I have no idea what the school itself is like, but at a glance, it's web presence is sort of laughable. see evidence lifted directly from their site below.

The Japanese government's official English translations of certain (about 230 pages worth) Japanese legal terms is available online. I continue to be amazed at the amount of help and tidbits I've gotten through this and other blogs. I can only imagine how much more help etc I'd be getting if I actually wrote well, or posted something worth reading every now and again. Nah. It's great. I almost feel at times like you're writing the blog that I otherwise would, given a few quick geographic and disciplinary search-and-replaces.
Though I'd be interested to read a little more transparently about your study process. I passed 1級 the same time you did, with about the same score, and am currently working my way through materials preparing for 漢検4級 and wondering how the hell I passed 1級 aka "Square 1".
PS - "Zaftig"? Damn.
